Class Descriptions
Arts & Crafts - Anyone can create a work of art no matter what age or how well they can follow directions or how messy they like to get. Each class explores color, texture and design in age appropriate projects. Participants will use large and fine motor skills with teacher directed projects leaving plenty of room for individual creative expression. Take your completed projects home for a personalized art gallery.
Ballet - Not sure if the little ballerina has what it takes for a formal dance studio? Here's a great place to start. Learn the basics of dance without the pressure of a performance studio.
Basketball - Small size balls and a low net makes this the perfect class to learn the basics of the sport. Coach John directs the class through drills and dribbling, shooting and teamwork.
Creative Movement - Run, skip, hop, move like you're floating in bubbles. Use your body like you never thought to use it before. Slither like a snake, roar like a bear, float on a cloud. This class will get your body and your mind exploring.
Dance!Dance!Dance! - a beginners mix of all the great dance styles! Designed to be fun and informative. Get moving with tap, ballet, hip hop, a lttle jazz and more!
Drama - This class takes drama from first stages of story development to character building to directing. Children create scenes, jump into stories and explore moods. They act out well known fairy tales and create their own endings.
Family Fit & Dance - Make fitness a family affair! Stretch, exercise and dance with your child and get fit together!
Grass Games - Meet on the South side of Washington Square Park for fun fitness outdoor games like poison ball, gaga, obstacle courses, parachutes and more!
Gymnastics / Tumbling - Age appropriate gymnastics skills builds muscle, balance and coordination. All classes use gymnastics mats, spring boards, balance beams and bars in a variety of skill activities, fun obstacle courses and games.
Magic - Learn to dazzle your friends in the only class that teaches magic in Philadelphia! Each participant learns the tricks of the trade and gets props to take home to show off to friends and family.
Mix It Up - each week is a new experience, from story telling to tumbling, art to music to dance. Less structured than some of our classes, Mix It Up is a perfect sampling for little one's that like to explore new things.
Mommy Fit - Pilates based stretching and toning for mom while staying connected with baby. For moms with infants up to 6 months. Moms use the baby as a weight to get back in shape after the long pregnancy.
Music & Me - Sing, play, dance with me. Singer/ song writier John Samuels leads moms/ dads/ nannies in music and movement. Shake and egg shaker, bang a drum, fly a scarf and sing, sing, sing.
Musical Theater - Broadway style! Children will learn musical theater performance numbers with song and dance to dazzle their family and friends.
Sign Language - Early communication can be a frustrating event for baby and parents. They know what they want long before they have the words to express. Sign Language learned early has been proven to aid children in the early developement of language and communication. For care givers with babys from 6 months to 2 years.
Swimming - Age appropriate instruction leads children to first respect and not fear the water. They learn the skills to feel safe and be safe while they work their way to swimming laps across the pool. Swim lessons start at age 3 and are grouped by age and skill levels.
Tap Dance - Rythm and movement make this class a sure winner. Kids learn to use their feet, their hands and their bodies to move with music while making music of their own.
Tots Sports - Practice sports skills with little hands and feet. Age appropriate equipment and space makes this the perfect class for little athletes to kick a soccer ball into a net, hit a tot sized baseball or shoot a basket into a low net. Each week will mix sports activities to keep the class fun and active.
Yoga - Children stretch and move. Yoga improves muscle tone and coordination as well as balance and the ability to focus the energy and relax.
